“I felt tenderly held by Suzy’s listening presence when I reached out to her through the eco-chaplaincy support network. Suzy is sharing grounding skills with me and encouraging me to create rituals for expressing grief while in quiet, peaceful, natural places outdoors. Suzy recorded a meditation that I can listen to at any time and feel the soothing balm of her words washing over me like a healing river. I am learning loving-kindness meditation for our world with Suzy as a practice for self, others, and our planet. I now ground myself and embrace letting go daily with the tools that Suzy is teaching me. With Suzy’s help I am remembering that nature has answers for us and that we can learn to be really good listeners to ourselves as well as our planet. I’m grateful for Suzy’s gentle reminders about our interconnection with earth and others in community. Suzy helped me tap into a bigger picture view of things, through a guided meditation, and simple ritual.
